I'm new to church - what can I expect?

I've never been to church before. What will it be like?

The service will normally last about an hour and we invite you to stay on afterwards for coffee and a chance to meet with others.

We gather in prayer and sung worship; we hear readings from the Bible and a sermon to help us reflect on what God may be saying to us; and in a communion service we are invited to share in bread and wine to remember Jesus.

Where can I park?

This is limited parking in front of St Luke's that we reserve for those with mobility needs. There are however spaces nearby on Stepney Drive and there is always parking on the roads around St Luke's.

Do I have to pay anything?

No.

There is an opportunity on Sunday for people to contribute to the running costs of the parish (like the heating and lighting) but it is completely voluntary.

Do I need to bring anything?

Nope - we have coffee, Bibles (and recommendations for free Bible apps), toys for the little ones and activities for older ones ...just bring yourself!

There is a team at the back of church each week to welcome you and make sure you've got everything you need.

I want to bring my baby / toddler to church but I'm worried that they'll make too much noise.

We love little ones and the joy that they bring. We also understand the organisation and dedication it takes to get out of the house! That's why at St Luke's we are set up for our smallest of visitors. We have baby changing facilitates, access to a microwave, a selection of baby toys & books. Come as you are and don't worry at all if your little one makes a noise! We'll all be making noise!
